Direct answer

First verify the provider's current accreditation through OTA's official channels. Then ask whether it supports your actual invoice types, POS or ERP interface, testing schedule, error handling and support needs. Compare the written scope and commercial terms. A provider logo or a partner's claim is not proof that your merchant setup is approved.

The short version

  • Check current OTA accreditation.
  • Match scope to real transactions and software versions.
  • Agree who handles errors and support.

Run a transaction demonstration

Ask the provider to process a normal invoice, a rejection and a credit note from data your system can produce. Inspect what comes back to the POS or ERP. If the test uses a different software version, record that gap before signing.

Settle operating responsibilities

The contract should identify onboarding, archive, data access, incident escalation, change notices and exit arrangements. OTA says ultimate invoice-compliance responsibility stays with the taxpayer, so the merchant should keep enough evidence to supervise the service.

What to check in your own setup

  • Verify provider status in official OTA material.
  • Request a written transaction and integration scope.
  • Agree testing, support, retention and exit responsibilities.

Questions people ask

Does an accredited provider make any connected POS accredited?

No. Accreditation and compatibility are separate questions; the exact merchant flow still needs testing and onboarding.

Sources and verification

OTA and OpenPeppol material can change. Check the latest official version before making a tax or deployment decision.
