Which POS data should you map before Fawtara integration?
Turn a till transaction into a traceable invoice field map without assuming a draft is the final rulebook.

Direct answer
Start with seller and buyer identity, invoice reference and date, line descriptions, quantities, amounts, tax treatment and totals. Map each value to its source system, owner and validation rule, then compare with the current PINT OM specification and your accredited provider's interface. OTA notes that some shared mapping material was circulated as a draft, so track the version used.

The short version
- Give each target field a source and owner.
- Keep examples for taxable and other relevant supplies.
- Version the mapping as official rules change.
Find missing data before coding
Retail POS data is often strong on products and payments but weak on customer identity or tax classification. Use real anonymised sales to find gaps. Decide where the missing field should be entered and who may correct it.
Include response fields
A field map is incomplete if it only describes outbound data. Include provider document ID, status, rejection reason and correction reference. Finance needs those values to explain why an invoice is absent from an accepted-document report.
What to check in your own setup
- Map source, transformation and owner for each field.
- Test representative B2B and B2C records.
- Record draft or final specification version and provider rules.
Questions people ask
Can a single example invoice prove the map is complete?
No. Test transaction types, tax treatments and corrections that the business actually uses.
Sources and verification
OTA and OpenPeppol material can change. Check the latest official version before making a tax or deployment decision.
